Andy, Tim, Michael

As official as it gets.

Welcome to the web site for Silkworm (1987-2005).

R. I. P.

MICHAEL JERMAN DAHLQUIST

22 DEC 1965 - 14 JULY 2005

07-25-2005

Hello, everyone.

As most of you know, Michael Dahlquist was killed on 14 July 2005, along with his good friends Doug Meis and John Glick. You can get the details from the 'message board' section of the website.

I will be posting more relevant info and links: obituary, letters, etc. etc.

For now, I just wanted to get the home page changed.

I can't sum up the substance of this loss right now. Too big. It is so big because Michael was such a great guy. He made us so happy. He was like a brother to me and especially to Andy, and we miss him so very much.

More later.

Love,

Tim

Do not forget about the rock shows this weekend. Friday night in Chicago, Saturday night in Minneapolis. I've heard great things about the Triple Rock in Minneapolis. I've never been, but I've heard great things.

I meant to mention this last time: for those of you who first got into Silkworm when you were six years old, this will be your first chance to see the band in concert. If it weren't for those damned over-21 laws, both of us could've been rockin' out to this shit for fifteen years. Hot balls! Go to the shows!

Since the inception of this web page in - good heavens - 1997, I have never gone so long without posting at least some kind of an update. I know you've all been worried, but please. There's nothing to worry about. We're all healthy, and we're all very busy - much too busy to worry about anything at all. We have no worries! You know the guys who spend their days at the beach, riding the waves & being sporty with their brothers? and spending each night safe in the arms of yet another sweet, sweet lady? You how those guys, if you ask them if they have any worries, they say, "no worries?" We're like those guys.

All is well though. I am not kidding. You think I'm kidding, but I'm not. One of us had a baby, as I believe I've mentioned, and the baby is growing rapidly. It looks you in the eye! It's creepy, I know, but some of them do it. Right in the eye. Everyone but me has some new job or another. I'm in a relatively satisfying and accomodating position so I have not run off to greener pastures just yet.

None of that matters so much I suppose. What I'm really here to say is: thanks for checking in. We have the full intention of revamping this among-the-most-ancient-of-web pages sometime, oh, this year I'm sure, and I'm confident it'll happen.

No, that's not what I'm here to say. I'm here to say, Go to the damned shows weekend after next! If you don't know what the hell I'm talking about, click here. There will be some information on these shows. One's in Chicago on March 18th, one's in Minneapolis on March 19th. There are more coming up in April, but really please just click on the link and you will know all you need to know.

Thank you. More news sooner than last time.

Okay, sorry nothing's been updated for a while! Geez! There just isn't much going on. It's Wintertime, and we're all profoundly depressed; but that's hardly news, now, is it?

As a means to avoid them blues, we're playing a show at Logan Square Auditorium here in Chicago on Friday, January 7th. We may even have hot spiced cider on hand - that'll cheer you up. Even if you're on the ledge, ready to jump, hot spiced cider will pull you right back in. Hell, even if you're in the air! It's that good. So come to the show.

I'm trying to think of what all I can post here. I know you're all planning on going to the small flock of rock shows that's coming up in the next couple of weeks, so I won't mention them. Instead I'll mention this article where Andy says some stuff. Damn, I can't think of much else. Can you believe we're still a rock band? It's been many, many years now. Come February I'll have been in this band for 15 years. That is terrible, terrible news.
